S. J. Crabb is an excellent storyteller. What an imagination she has! This book is fascinating and very funny. However, this author has no idea of even 5th grade punctuation and spelling. Sentences run together like beads on a chain, several with no pause. I thought at first they were written this way purposely to indicate the speed with which the character was speaking. But, no, the whole book is the same. The lady seems to have no idea what commas, periods, and quotation marks are for. There are many other typos too, missing words and such. Where are the book editors? I can't believe that even a reviewer on an Indie book would pass it. It is very distracting from the story when this sort of errors take place.
This book reminded me a lot of Carolyn Brown's Book, "The Ladies Room"! It makes you laugh at times but is a story of hope that things work out for the best when you have been rejected by the man in your life! Sophie must pull herself together for her son, Harry's sake. After 20 yrs of marriage, her husband, Lysander, has found a new love and walks away from Sophie. Sophie.along with her BFF, Simone, battle gossip at Harry's school, Lysander's controlling ways of how Sophie's divorce will be worked out...and Mr Daniel Rainford, the gorgeous teacher at Harry's school. To be sure, this book will have you laughing at how things can be SO misunderstood! I loved this book, if you are looking for a great, feel good read, THIS is the one for you!
I’ve had this book waiting to be read for some time. Just jettisoned The Diary Of Madison’s, because it was so puerile. Started this but then looked at the reviews, & again have to admit many folk have differing opinions, but I know what I like & what I find total rubbish. Sad to say this is also total rubbish. Too many grammatical errors, punctuation abysmal & the storyline so totally unimaginable. Luckily it was on a 99cent special. Glad I didn’t pay a lot for it. It’s been archived already
Read it in one day. It has all the funny moments of being a mom and dealing with the mom gossips at school. A divorce, and of course, a great guy and best friend round this story out. I do agree, I too had to re read certain parts because of bad editing. Otherwise I liked it alot.
I loved every word of this. Sophie is thrown into shock when her husband wakes her one morning to tell her that he is leaving her. Sad, heart-broken, and confused, Sophie feels so alone. She has her son, Harry, her best friend, Simone, and her new friend, Daniel, all of whom keep her world together for her. I laughed sometimes, and I cried sometimes, as I read the story. Sophie works at finding her inner strength, as she discovers herself. I pulled for her all the way. Wonderful characters, great story, written so well that I couldn't put it down. The few typos were easy to overlook because the content is so good. Great job. I look forward to reading more by this author.
What a delightful book. As I am having problems in my own life, it was uplifting to read about someone's else's problems that are bad, but humerous and how things work out in the end. The fun was getting to the end.
This is my favorite ChickLit/RomCom book of all time! The heroine of the story, Sophie, is so likable. The kind of friend you’d love to have in your corner. I love how she never loses her spirit and can manage to help others even though she has been stepped on. This is the kind of light tale you can read again and again. Poor Sophie...she suddenly finds herself so far from having the perfect life. What could be worse than having the Playground Mafia know about her husband leaving her for a younger woman and the rumors of her having an affair with her son’s teacher? How about having her problems broadcast online! Will Sophie prove them all wrong? If keeps her head heald high and with the support of her friends (some in high places) it may be possible for her to find that perfect life afterall.
You can't help but root for Sophie and want her to stand up for herself. You will come back to see where she is going and what disaster will befall her next.
